Summertime
Indietracks was super-ultra-awesome! It was two days of almost non-stop music - either dancing under the sunshine on the outdoor stage, watching bands acoustically while riding a train, sitting on the pews of the little church that was turned into a stage, or the great little surprise performances on the tea tent in between other sets and the train platform after hours. I’m already looking forward to next year’s!
There’s pictures of the whole weekend on flickr.
Because I was alredy in Ripley, for the MJ Hibbet’s Indietrack warm-up show on Friday, I missed Allo Darlin’s appearance on radio 6. But it’s ok, because it’s online now and I could still listen to it. If you missed it too, you can find it here , just go to last Friday’s show and Elizabeth was on at 6.15, which is 2hr 15min into the show, but you can scroll forward if you like.
One happy island goes on tour (unfortunately not in the uk) this month - they will be playing in Nashville (Tennessee), Louisville (Kentucky), Atlanta (Georgia), The Athens Popfest (Georgia), and a couple of dates in Cambridge (Massachusetts). More info on their myspace page.
That’s it for now, but we have some very exciting things planned for the second half of the year. We’ll keep you posted!

Make me smile
Let’s whisper’s release party last thursday was great!!! There will be some pictures of the night on flickr pretty soon.
So, the ep is out now, all the pre-orders have been sent (thank you to everyone who pre-ordered!) and now and we can sit back, relax and look forward to Indietracks this weekend.
The festival promises to be super-awesome! There’s so many good bands playing, including quite a few weepop!ers (Allo darlin, Mexican kids at home, The just joans, Roadside poppies, and Colin Clary ), lots of friends (including the smittens, milky wimpshake, pocketbooks, the deirdres and silence at sea), and I’m sure there will be lots of new bands to be discovered as well. I can’t wait!!!
If you haven’t got tickets yet, you can find more info on the festival on their website.
And even though Indietracks is just a few days away, there’s still a few very exciting things happening before then:
Mexican kids at home will be playing HDIF in London this Thursday, with the give it ups, hong kong in the 60s and Even as we speak. And it’s free! More info here.
Allo, darlin is going to be on Radio 6 this Friday (july 25), at around 6:15pm. Elizabeth is going to give a short interview and they’ll play one of their songs, if you’re around, please put the radio on. :)
That’s it for now, hope to see you at indietracks!

Gig coming up!!
We're putting on a gig next Thursday, July 17th, to celebrate the fact that Let's whisper is actually gonna be in the UK for their EP release.
Let's whisper is Dana Kaplan and Colin Clary, both of whom you might have heard of from their solo projects and their other band "The smittens". They play the sweetest, catchiest pop songs, which you can check out here.
Also playing that evening:
Allo,Darlin (The Darlings)
Sweet ukulele girl pop!!!!! Allo, Darlin is Elizabeth Darling's new moniker, who had to change the band's name after a a spooky email from another band called The Darlings.
Electrophonvintage
Dreamy beautiful songs influenced by the Go Betweens, the Hidden cameras and french 60's pop.
It is all happening at the Miller - 96 Snowfields Road, about 5 minutes walk from London Bridge station.
Advance tickets are now available on WeGotTickets.
Hope to see you there,

Birthday party
Our anniversary party this Sunday was a blast!!!
All four bands were brilliant, the crowd was so nice and friendly, everyone seemed to have a fun evening and really felt like a birthday party. We even had birthday cakes (thanks to Trev and Charlotte!) !!
The night started off with Elizabeth Darling, doing a lovely acoustic uke set, accompanied only by Will Harrison’s back vocals and an egg shaker, the duo played a few very promising new songs (I especially love Henry Rollins) and finished off with the addictive “Emily”.
Second on the bill was Mexican kids at home, it was the first time we got to see them playing live and I think we were not the only ones impressed by their performance. It was great to hear the songs we know so well played live. Ah, and they have a cajon, which looks like it is lots of fun to play!
Little my somehow managed to all fit in the tiny stage of the Enterprise and delivered their usual bundle of brisk short, sweet pop tunes (man, they must have been hot in their cute animal costumes!). They were such fun to watch!!!!
Next came the Just joans, with their Scottish drawl over incredibly clever twee songs, they played a bunch of brand new songs (from the new ep “hey boy… you’re oh so sensitive” out that evening), and some of their old ones, that somehow just keeping getting better and better.
And so the party was over, and it felt just perfect. All the bands sounded quite unique, in their own way, and I think they left everybody wishing they could have a wee bit more, which is the best way to go back home from a gig.
Thanks to Lost Music for putting the gig on, especially to Trev for all the hard work and the lovely cakes, to all the bands (you were all so amazing!!!), and for everybody who were there. It’s been such a wonderful year for weePOP! and there couldn’t be a better way to celebrate it. THANK YOU!!!!
